Day 1 | Jinan: Daming Lake, Qushui Street & Baotu Spring

Accommodation Accommodation:
4-star/5-star standard room
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Upon arrival in Jinan, your private driver will meet you at Jinan Airport, train station, or your hotel and take you directly to the first stop of the day.

Jinan is often called the "City of Springs," and its character is best understood by seeing how naturally its springs, lakes, old streets, and everyday life blend together. Rather than rushing from one major attraction to another, today's route follows the water through some of the city's most atmospheric corners.

Start your Jinan adventure at Daming Lake, one of the city's three major scenic landmarks. Spend about an hour strolling around the lake, where open water, green trees, traditional pavilions, and the surrounding cityscape create a relaxed introduction to Jinan. On a clear day, the reflections across the lake make for particularly beautiful views. Daming Lake is more than a scenic spot—it is one of the places that reveals how water has shaped Jinan's identity. After enjoying the open lake views, you'll head deeper into the old city, where the springs become even more closely connected with local life.

Continue to Qushui Street and Wangfu Pool, spending around an hour exploring this atmospheric part of the old town. Qushui Street connects Daming Lake with Baihuazhou, Wangfu Pool, and Furong Street. Small waterways, stone bridges, traditional buildings, and local shops give the neighborhood a distinctly old-Jinan feel.

Then continue to Wangfu Pool, also known as Zhuoying Spring, part of the Pearl Spring group. Compared with the larger scenic areas, this is a quieter place to slow down and appreciate the spring water flowing through the historic neighborhood. The best part of this section is that you are not simply looking at a landmark—you are seeing how springs have been woven into the everyday life of the old city.

Next, make your way to Quancheng Square and Quancheng Road, where Jinan's historic character meets its modern city center. Quancheng Square is one of the city's major landmarks and an important public space in downtown Jinan. From here, Quancheng Road offers a lively contrast to the quieter old streets you have just explored. Depending on your interests and pace, we can adjust the time here so you have more opportunities to enjoy the old town or simply take a break before continuing to the next spring.

Your next stop is Black Tiger Spring, one of Jinan's famous 72 springs. Spend around 30 minutes here to see the spring pool and the distinctive rocky setting around it. Black Tiger Spring is particularly interesting because the spring water is not separated from the city—it remains part of the local urban landscape and daily life. It is a small stop, but one that adds another layer to the story of Jinan's springs.

Finish your Jinan sightseeing at Baotu Spring, perhaps the city's most famous spring. Allow around an hour to explore the park and admire the clear spring water bubbling naturally from underground. Baotu Spring is one of Jinan's three major scenic landmarks and has long been celebrated as the "Best Spring under Heaven." Emperor Qianlong was so impressed by the quality of its water that he famously praised Baotu Spring during his southern tour. Today, the spring remains one of the most recognizable symbols of Jinan.

After seeing Daming Lake, the old streets, Black Tiger Spring, and Baotu Spring in one day, you will have experienced several different sides of the "City of Springs" —from broad lakes and historic neighborhoods to intimate spring pools.

In the afternoon, leave Jinan by private vehicle and drive approximately 150 km to Qufu. Upon arrival, your driver will take you to your hotel for check-in. The evening is free to relax after the day's sightseeing and long-distance transfer.

Day 2 | Qufu: Temple of Confucius, Confucius Mansion & Cemetery of Confucius

Accommodation Accommodation:
4-star/5-star standard room
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your private driver will pick you up from your Qufu hotel and begin the day's cultural exploration. Qufu is much more than a historic town. It is the hometown of Confucius and one of the most important places for understanding the development of Confucian culture in China. Today's route connects three major sites—the Temple of Confucius, Confucius Mansion, and Cemetery of Confucius—to show different aspects of this long cultural tradition.

Begin at the Temple of Confucius, where you will spend around an hour. The temple was built to honor and worship Confucius and developed over centuries into one of China's most important ancient architectural complexes. Walking through its successive courtyards, you'll encounter grand halls, ancient trees, stone inscriptions, and traditional architecture arranged along a carefully designed axis. Look beyond the buildings themselves and you'll notice something more interesting: the architecture reflects the importance of Confucian ritual and hierarchy in traditional Chinese society.

Continue to the Confucius Mansion, spending around an hour exploring its courtyards and historic buildings. Unlike the Temple of Confucius, which focuses primarily on worship and ritual, the mansion offers a glimpse into the daily and administrative life of the Confucius family. The Kong family lived here for generations, with its status and traditions continuing for centuries. As you walk through the courtyards, you can see how an ancient family residence combined formal government functions with the atmosphere of a private household.

Next, head to the Cemetery of Confucius, also known as Kong Lin. This extensive wooded cemetery is the burial ground of Confucius and generations of his descendants. Compared with the grandeur of the temple and the structured courtyards of the mansion, Kong Lin feels much quieter and more natural. Ancient trees, stone monuments, and pathways spread through the forest, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Together, the three sites provide a fuller picture of Qufu: the Temple represents worship and ritual, the Mansion represents family and social history, and the Cemetery represents generations of continuity.

In the afternoon, leave Qufu by private vehicle and drive approximately 80 km to Tai'an. After arriving in Tai'an, your driver will take you directly to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the evening is free, giving you time to relax and prepare for tomorrow's Mount Tai adventure. If you plan to climb Mount Tai, we recommend getting an early night and preparing comfortable walking shoes, drinking water, sun protection, and a light jacket. Mountain weather can be quite different from conditions at the foot of the mountain.

Day 3 | Tai'an: Mount Tai

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your private driver will pick you up from your Tai'an hotel and take you to Mount Tai to begin the final day of your journey.

As one of China's most celebrated mountains and a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both cultural and natural value, Mount Tai brings together dramatic mountain scenery and thousands of years of history. Ancient emperors once came here for the sacred Fengshan ceremonies, while temples, stone inscriptions, and historic monuments remain scattered across the mountain.

Spend the day exploring the mountain at your own pace and taking in its changing landscapes. Along the way, you can see iconic sites including Nantianmen, Tianjie, Bixia Temple, and Jade Emperor Peak, while enjoying views of rugged peaks, ancient trees, and distant valleys.

Rather than rushing through a fixed route, the sightseeing pace can be adjusted according to your interests, weather, and physical condition, leaving more room to stop for photos, admire the scenery, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of this legendary mountain.

After your visit, meet your private driver for a convenient transfer to your Tai'an hotel, train station, or another designated location. If you are continuing by high-speed train, we can arrange the transfer around your departure time for a smooth end to the trip.

A Photographer's Kind of Day

If you like old architecture, bring a camera. Badaguan was probably my favorite part because every street seemed to have a slightly different look. The church and railway station were also great photo stops. I liked that the tour wasn't only about famous sights — there was plenty of time to notice small details along the way.

Definitely earned its reputation

I knew Mount Tai would be the big highlight for me, but it was still better than expected. The views kept changing as we went higher, and there was something really special about seeing the old temples and inscriptions along the mountain. The whole trip was also very well organized. We had enough time at each place without feeling like we were constantly watching the clock.

Beautiful City, Bring Comfortable Shoes

We really enjoyed the tour, although there is definitely a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. The old streets were probably my favorite part because there was something interesting around every corner. Baotu Spring was busy when we visited, but the water itself was beautiful. Overall, it was a very nice way to see the central part of Jinan in one day.

A Lovely Half-Day in Jinan

We only had half a day in Jinan, so this route worked really well for us. It felt like a good balance between seeing the famous sights and getting into the older parts of the city. I especially liked how relaxed the walking section was. Our driver was on time, communication was easy, and we never felt rushed.
