Under the intense summer sun, the mountain surface can reach extremely high temperatures, creating the legendary "burning mountain" scenery.

Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Driving Distance: Approx. 500 km | 7 hours

After breakfast, your private driver and English-speaking guide will escort you westward from Hotan to Kashgar, following one of the most important routes of the ancient Southern Silk Road. Unlike a simple transfer day, today offers a fascinating journey through the historical heartland of southern Xinjiang, where ancient kingdoms, Islamic architecture, and Uyghur traditions have shaped the region for centuries.

On the way to Kashgar, visit the Yarkand Khan Mausoleum, one of the most impressive Islamic architectural complexes in southern Xinjiang. Built in the 16th century, this magnificent site was the final resting place of members of the royal family of the Yarkand Khanate, a powerful kingdom that controlled an important section of the Silk Road. Walking through the peaceful courtyard, you will admire the elegant domes, traditional brick decorations, and Islamic artistic details that reflect the cultural exchange between Central Asia and China. Your guide will share stories about the rise and fall of the Yarkand Khanate, the role of Yarkand as a Silk Road trading center, and how different cultures met here through centuries of commerce and migration.

Continue driving toward Kashgar through the vast landscapes of southern Xinjiang. Along the way, you will see a dramatic transition of scenery—from desert edges and dry river valleys to fertile oasis farmland surrounded by mountains. These landscapes reveal how ancient civilizations survived and flourished in one of the world's harshest environments. Your private vehicle allows flexible stops for photography and short breaks, making the long-distance journey comfortable and relaxed.

Arrive in Kashgar, the legendary Silk Road trading city near the border of Central Asia. After check-in, you can enjoy free time to explore nearby streets, experience the unique atmosphere of this multicultural city, or simply rest before tomorrow's in-depth Kashgar exploration.

Day 10 | Kashgar Old City Exploration: Experience the Living Heart of the Ancient Silk Road

Accommodation Accommodation:
4-star standard room
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today, dive into the cultural heart of Kashgar, one of the most legendary cities along the ancient Silk Road. For centuries, Kashgar served as a vital trading hub connecting China with Central Asia, where merchants, travelers, and cultures from different civilizations met.

Begin your exploration at the iconic Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China and one of the most important religious landmarks in Central Asia. Built in the 15th century, the mosque has witnessed more than 500 years of history and remains the spiritual center of Kashgar. Its spacious courtyard, elegant arches, traditional Uyghur decorative details, and impressive prayer hall showcase the unique fusion of Islamic and Central Asian architectural styles.

Continue to a traditional century-old tea house hidden in the old streets of Kashgar. More than just a place to enjoy tea, it is a window into local daily life. Sit down with a cup of fragrant Uyghur tea, taste freshly baked naan and local snacks, and watch residents gather, chat, and enjoy their leisurely afternoons.

Visit Kashgar's famous Handicraft Street, where generations of artisans continue producing traditional copperware, wood carvings, carpets, and handmade crafts. Walking through the narrow streets, you can watch craftsmen shaping copper pots, carving wooden decorations, and preserving techniques passed down through generations.

End the day with a relaxing walk through Kashgar Old City, where colorful doors, traditional houses, small workshops, and lively streets create one of Xinjiang's most atmospheric neighborhoods. Enjoy the freedom to stop for photos, interact with local residents, or explore hidden corners at your own pace.

Day 11 | Pamir Plateau Adventure: Discover Alpine Lakes & the Majesty of Muztagh Ata

Accommodation Accommodation:
4-star standard room
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Driving Distance: Approx. 300 km | 6 hours round trip

Today, leave behind the ancient streets of Kashgar and journey into one of China's most spectacular natural regions—the Pamir Plateau, known as the "Roof of the World."

Your first stop is the stunning Baisha Lake, a unique landscape where turquoise-blue water meets white sand dunes and snow-capped mountains. The contrast between the soft white dunes, crystal-clear lake, and dramatic mountain backdrop creates one of the most photogenic scenes on the Pamir Plateau. Take your time walking along the lakeshore, capturing panoramic photos, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this remote highland landscape.

Continue to the magnificent Karakul Lake, one of the most iconic destinations along the Karakoram Highway. Located at an altitude of more than 3,600 meters, the lake offers unforgettable views of Muztagh Ata Peak, known as the "Father of Ice Mountains." On clear days, the snow-covered summit is perfectly reflected in the calm waters, creating a breathtaking natural panorama.

The journey itself is part of the experience. Along the mountain roads, you will pass through dramatic valleys, grasslands, and remote villages, experiencing the raw beauty of one of the world's most magnificent mountain regions. Your private vehicle allows flexible stops whenever the weather and scenery create the perfect photo opportunity.

Safety Considerations for Elderly Travelers at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

Hello, we are traveling with my parents and we have some safety concerns about Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
1. If my parents feel uncomfortable at higher altitude or decide not to take the cable car to Glacier Park, is there a place where they can rest while waiting for us?
2. Could the driver take them to Ganhaizi Meadow for a walk while we visit Glacier Park?

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We completely understand that when traveling with parents, having a comfortable backup plan is very important, especially for a high-altitude destination like Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

If your parents decide not to take the cable car, they can rest at the visitor center area while waiting. However, please note that due to the transportation regulations inside the scenic area, our vehicle can only park in designated parking areas outside the cable car station area. This means the driver cannot take your parents to Ganhaizi Meadow and then return to the cable car station afterward, as the vehicle would need to leave the area and may need to queue again for parking access.

Our suggestion would be to let your parents rest comfortably at the visitor center or nearby areas while the rest of the family visits Glacier Park. Our guide and driver will also help coordinate the timing so everyone can reunite smoothly.

We will always try to arrange the day in the most comfortable way according to your family's situation.

Wonderful experience with a very friendly guide

The scenery at Longji was breathtaking, especially with the clouds around the mountains in the morning. Our guide Leo was the highlight of the trip. He was professional but also felt like a friend traveling with us. He shared local stories, recommended good viewpoints, and took many great photos for our family. The company was also very responsive when we changed our pickup location last minute. Really appreciated the flexibility.
