08:30 Hotel pickup by your private guide and driver. Start today's sightseeing with a clear schedule.From your hotel, drive about 30 minutes to West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Board your private boat at a quiet lakeside pier. Spend 1 hour cruising the calm water, passing Su Causeway, Bai Causeway, lotus ponds, and the famous Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. Your guide shares history, legends, and photo tips.

After the lake cruise, drive 5 minutes along the lakeshore to Guo's Garden. Spend 1 hour exploring this exquisite Jiangnan classical garden. Stroll through curved corridors, lotus ponds, and elegant pavilions, and admire the traditional “borrowed scenery” design blending lake and garden views.

Leave the city behind and journey into the peaceful green hills of Meijiawu, a centuries-old village in the heart of the famous Longjing tea region. Surrounded by terraced tea fields, bamboo groves, and misty mountain scenery, this beautiful valley offers a glimpse into the landscapes that inspired generations of Chinese poets and painters.

During your 1-hour visit, walk through scenic tea plantations with your guide, enjoy fresh mountain views, and stop at beautiful photo spots along the hillsides. In spring, you may see local tea farmers carefully hand-picking fresh tea leaves using traditional methods passed down for generations. Outside the harvest season, your guide will introduce the art of Longjing tea making, including the famous hand-roasting process. You may also have the chance to taste authentic Longjing tea while learning about Hangzhou's rich tea culture and traditions.

After lunch, drive 10 minutes to Yunqi Bamboo Path. Spend 1.5 hours walking this peaceful forest trail. Towering bamboo forms a green canopy; crystal streams run alongside the stone path. Breathe fresh air and enjoy quiet nature away from crowds.This is also the place where the renowned Chinese R&B singer Khalil Fong rested and recuperated before his passing.

From the bamboo path, drive 25 minutes back to old Hangzhou. Spend 2 hours roaming Hefang Street, a 1,000-year-old pedestrian street. Explore Ming-Qing buildings, craft shops, and snack stalls. Taste local specialties such as sweet osmanthus cakes and browse silk, jade, and paper-cutting handicrafts,experience the unique charm of the local life in Jiangnan.

MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

8:30 Hotel pickup and departure for Wuzhen Water Town.Drive approx. 1.5 hours from Hangzhou to Wuzhen, a well-preserved ancient water town in Jiangnan. On the way, your English guide gives a detailed introduction to Wuzhen's 1,300-year history, traditional water town culture, local folk customs, and the unique "living ancient town" concept that preserves original daily life alongside cultural heritage.

10:00 Arrive at Wuzhen East Gate (the most authentic and well-preserved core area). Your guide leads a 2.5-hour in-depth guided tour, with a carefully planned route to avoid peak crowds and cover all must-see highlights + exclusive photo spots.

Absolute Must-See Scenery (Guide's Priority Route)

Fuyuan Shuangqiao (Twin Bridges) – The iconic symbol of Wuzhen. Two stone arch bridges cross the canal side by side, with white walls and black tiles reflected in clear water. A classic Jiangnan water town view you cannot miss.

Hongyuan Tai Dyeing Workshop – A centuries-old indigo-dyeing workshop. Tall wooden racks hang rows of hand-dyed blue cloth, fluttering in the breeze against green hills and clear sky. It is the most representative intangible cultural heritage scene in Wuzhen.

Water Stage & Riverside Long Corridor – A traditional open-air opera stage built over the water, surrounded by red lanterns. The adjacent covered corridor with wooden railings offers unobstructed views of the canal and passing boats.

Ancient Residential Waterfront Lanes – Rows of well-preserved Ming-Qing houses with carved wooden windows, bluestone steps leading directly to the water, and small private docks. Experience the authentic "living by water" lifestyle of ancient Jiangnan people.

Three Core Themed Museums – Visit the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum (exquisitely carved ancient wooden beds of nobles and scholars), Wood Carving Museum (intricate traditional wood carvings, door panels, and furniture), and Hunshuting Garden (a delicate private Jiangnan garden with rockeries, ponds, and pavilions).

Along the way, your guide introduces intangible cultural heritage craftsmen at work: watch artisans hand-print blue cloth with traditional wooden molds, knead and bake local pastries (sweet rice cakes, sesame cakes, and Wuzhen's famous Ding Sheng Cakes) on-site. You can taste fresh, warm pastries for free and learn about the craftsmanship behind these ancient traditions. Your guide also explains the architectural details, such as carved flower windows, bluestone paving, and wooden beam structures, as well as local customs like river festivals and folk beliefs.

After lunch, spend 2 hours of unhurried free exploration at your own pace, with your guide's customized recommendations for further discovery:
Revisit your favorite photo spots or hidden corners;
Relax in a century-old riverside tea house with a cup of local green tea;
Browse small craft shops for handwoven bamboo products, blue cloth souvenirs, and handmade snacks;
Walk along quiet back alleys to see local residents' daily life, such as washing clothes by the water and chatting under old trees.

Optional Activity: Wuzhen Black-Awning Boat Ride (30–40 minutes)Take a traditional wooden black-awning boat, rowed by a local boatman. Drift slowly along the ancient canals, passing stone bridges, waterfront houses, and lush willow trees. Enjoy the water town scenery from a unique water-level perspective, listening to the gentle lapping of water and the boatman's folk songs.

15:30 Depart Wuzhen, drive about 1.5 hours back to central Hangzhou.17:00 Arrive in Hangzhou, end of your 2-day private tour. During the night, you can fully explore the delicious food and beautiful night views in Hangzhou. You can also consult your tour guide for suggestions on the best experience.

What Our Travelers Say

The trains made the route surprisingly easy

I had never traveled around China by high-speed train before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once we got the hang of it, it was actually one of the easiest parts of the trip. Having someone meet us at the stations was especially helpful because some of the stations are enormous. We could just get off the train, find our driver and move on.

Thanks, Marlowe! Glad to hear our train journeys turned out to be easier than expected. Those big stations can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first, so it's great to hear that having our driver there made things smoother. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip!

A Photographer's Kind of Day

If you like old architecture, bring a camera. Badaguan was probably my favorite part because every street seemed to have a slightly different look. The church and railway station were also great photo stops. I liked that the tour wasn't only about famous sights — there was plenty of time to notice small details along the way.

Thanks, Soren! We're delighted that the architectural side of Qingdao caught your eye. The city has so many small details that are easy to miss when you're in a hurry.

Definitely earned its reputation

I knew Mount Tai would be the big highlight for me, but it was still better than expected. The views kept changing as we went higher, and there was something really special about seeing the old temples and inscriptions along the mountain. The whole trip was also very well organized. We had enough time at each place without feeling like we were constantly watching the clock.

Beautiful City, Bring Comfortable Shoes

We really enjoyed the tour, although there is definitely a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. The old streets were probably my favorite part because there was something interesting around every corner. Baotu Spring was busy when we visited, but the water itself was beautiful. Overall, it was a very nice way to see the central part of Jinan in one day.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review and practical tip! We're glad you enjoyed the mix of Jinan's famous springs and quieter old streets. It was a pleasure to be part of your day in Jinan, and we hope you took home some lovely memories of the city.
