Exclusive Private Hangzhou Night Tour with the Iconic Qianjiang New City Light Show

BEST PRICE
HOT SALE
1 DAY

Hangzhou doesn't go to sleep when the sun goes down—in many ways, that's when the city becomes even more beautiful. This carefully designed evening tour combines Hangzhou's two most iconic night scenes: the romantic atmosphere of West Lake and the spectacular modern skyline along the Qiantang River. Instead of rushing between attractions, we've planned the timing around the city's evening performances so you can enjoy each stop at its best. Along the way, you'll enjoy a local dinner, travel comfortably with your private guide and driver, and discover a side of Hangzhou that many daytime visitors never experience. Whether you're visiting Hangzhou for the first time or returning to see something new, this evening offers the perfect balance of classic scenery, modern architecture, local food, and relaxed sightseeing.

Tour Highlights

- Watch the famous West Lake Music Fountain as water, lights, and music perform in perfect harmony.
- Savor authentic Hangzhou cuisine at a carefully selected local restaurant.
- Witness the spectacular City Balcony Light Show along the Qiantang River.
- Explore Hangzhou's modern riverside district and browse the Qianjiang New City Outlets.
- Upgrade your evening with a panoramic skyline dinner or a relaxing Qiantang River night cruise.
- Travel comfortably with private hotel or railway station pickup and drop-off throughout the evening.

Our guide will recommend authentic local restaurants with traditional cuisine and regional flavors.

Your evening begins with a private pickup from your hotel, Hangzhou Railway Station, or Hangzhou East Railway Station. There's no need to worry about transportation, finding meeting points, or checking performance schedules—we've already taken care of all of that for you. As soon as you meet your guide, we'll briefly introduce the evening's plan and make any small adjustments based on the latest show schedules, traffic conditions, and weather. Since both the West Lake Music Fountain and the City Balcony Light Show operate at fixed times, we carefully arrange the route so you spend your evening enjoying Hangzhou rather than waiting around for the next performance.

Enjoy a Taste of Hangzhou Before Night Falls
Before the city's lights come alive, it's time to slow down over dinner. Rather than taking you to tourist restaurants, we'll introduce you to one of our favorite local restaurants, where you can enjoy classic Hangzhou cuisine in a comfortable setting. Depending on the season, your meal may include famous dishes such as Longjing Tea Shrimp, Dongpo Pork, West Lake Vinegar Fish, seasonal vegetables, and other local specialties. Not interested in traditional Chinese cuisine? That's absolutely fine. Just let us know in advance, and we'll happily recommend international restaurants or adjust the menu to suit your preferences. Dinner isn't simply another stop on the itinerary—it's a chance to relax before the evening's highlights begin.

Watch the West Lake Music Fountain Come to Life
As evening settles over Hangzhou, we make our way to one of the city's most iconic nighttime attractions—the West Lake Music Fountain. Before the performance begins, we'll arrive a little early so you don't have to squeeze through the crowds looking for a good spot. Your guide knows exactly where the best viewing areas are, giving you plenty of time to take in the peaceful lakeside scenery as the city slowly lights up around you. Then, the show begins. Streams of water rise and fall in perfect rhythm with the music, illuminated by colorful lights that dance across the surface of West Lake. With Leifeng Pagoda and the surrounding lakeside skyline creating a beautiful backdrop, the performance feels elegant rather than overwhelming—exactly the kind of experience Hangzhou is known for. Although the show lasts only around fifteen minutes, it's often one of the most memorable moments of the evening. Every performance combines music, choreography, and lighting a little differently, making it enjoyable whether it's your first visit or your second.
After the fountain show, we won't rush back to the car. Instead, we'll take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside, where the evening atmosphere is at its most relaxing. As the crowds gradually disperse, you'll have time to admire the reflections shimmering across the water, capture beautiful nighttime photos, and simply enjoy a quieter side of West Lake that many visitors miss. From here, we'll leave the historic heart of Hangzhou behind and head toward the city's modern skyline, where an entirely different kind of nighttime spectacle awaits.

Experience the Spectacular City Balcony Light Show
Soon we arrive at City Balcony, one of the best places to appreciate Hangzhou's modern skyline. Stretching along the banks of the Qiantang River, this spacious riverside promenade offers an uninterrupted view of dozens of skyscrapers standing opposite each other across the water. As the show begins, the buildings themselves become enormous digital screens. Colorful animations flow across entire skyscrapers while synchronized lighting and music transform the skyline into a breathtaking visual performance. Unlike many cities where individual buildings light up separately, Hangzhou's light show turns the entire skyline into one coordinated display. We'll arrive early enough to secure a great viewing position, giving you plenty of time to take photos before the performance starts. Even after the show ends, many guests enjoy lingering along the riverfront, watching the city lights reflect across the calm waters of the Qiantang River.

Enjoy a Relaxed Evening at Qianjiang New City Outlets
Instead of heading straight back after the show, we'll continue the evening with a relaxed visit to the nearby Qianjiang New City Outlets. This modern shopping district feels very different from Hangzhou's traditional streets. Here you'll find international brands, local designer stores, cafés, dessert shops, and stylish public spaces where locals often spend their evenings. There's absolutely no pressure to shop. Some guests enjoy browsing a few stores, while others simply order a coffee, find a riverside bench, and soak in the atmosphere. It's a chance to experience Hangzhou the way many local residents do after work. Sometimes the best travel memories come from simply slowing down and enjoying the city around you.

Optional Upgrade: Cruise Along the Qiantang River
For an entirely different perspective, consider adding a Qiantang River Night Cruise. As your sightseeing boat gently moves along the river, Hangzhou's illuminated skyline unfolds on both sides, offering panoramic views that simply aren't possible from land. The City Balcony Light Show, illuminated bridges, riverside architecture, and sparkling reflections all combine to create a peaceful and romantic atmosphere. If the weather is pleasant, we highly recommend spending some time on the open-air deck. Feeling the evening breeze while watching the city glide past is one of those simple experiences that many guests remember long after their trip.

When the evening comes to an end, your private driver will take you directly back to your hotel or, if you're continuing your journey, to Hangzhou Railway Station or Hangzhou East Railway Station. There's no need to search for taxis or navigate public transportation late at night. Simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the final views of Hangzhou as you reflect on an evening that perfectly captures the city's unique character—where timeless lakeside beauty and a dazzling modern skyline come together in one unforgettable journey.

What Our Travelers Say

The trains made the route surprisingly easy

I had never traveled around China by high-speed train before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once we got the hang of it, it was actually one of the easiest parts of the trip. Having someone meet us at the stations was especially helpful because some of the stations are enormous. We could just get off the train, find our driver and move on.

Thanks, Marlowe! Glad to hear our train journeys turned out to be easier than expected. Those big stations can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first, so it's great to hear that having our driver there made things smoother. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip!

A Photographer's Kind of Day

If you like old architecture, bring a camera. Badaguan was probably my favorite part because every street seemed to have a slightly different look. The church and railway station were also great photo stops. I liked that the tour wasn't only about famous sights — there was plenty of time to notice small details along the way.

Thanks, Soren! We're delighted that the architectural side of Qingdao caught your eye. The city has so many small details that are easy to miss when you're in a hurry.

Definitely earned its reputation

I knew Mount Tai would be the big highlight for me, but it was still better than expected. The views kept changing as we went higher, and there was something really special about seeing the old temples and inscriptions along the mountain. The whole trip was also very well organized. We had enough time at each place without feeling like we were constantly watching the clock.

Beautiful City, Bring Comfortable Shoes

We really enjoyed the tour, although there is definitely a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. The old streets were probably my favorite part because there was something interesting around every corner. Baotu Spring was busy when we visited, but the water itself was beautiful. Overall, it was a very nice way to see the central part of Jinan in one day.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review and practical tip! We're glad you enjoyed the mix of Jinan's famous springs and quieter old streets. It was a pleasure to be part of your day in Jinan, and we hope you took home some lovely memories of the city.
