Meal: Beijing to Cuanxia Village
Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing in the morning and drive west toward Mentougou District. As you leave the urban area, the scenery gradually changes from busy streets and modern buildings to winding mountain roads, villages, forests, and valleys. The drive itself is part of the experience, offering a chance to see a less familiar side of Beijing. Your guide will introduce the landscape and local history as you travel through the mountains toward Cuanxia Village.
Explore Historic Cuanxia Village
Upon arrival, enter Cuanxia Village and begin exploring its traditional stone-built streets. The village is built along the mountain slopes, with houses and courtyards arranged around narrow lanes and stone stairways. As you walk through the village, your guide will explain how the settlement developed and how traditional families lived in the mountain environment. Look closely at the old courtyards, stone walls, wooden doors, decorative details, and traditional layouts that give the village its distinctive character. Rather than rushing between individual attractions, take your time wandering through the lanes and discovering small courtyards, viewpoints, and quiet corners. The village's compact layout also makes it easy to experience its atmosphere on foot.
Return to Beijing
In the afternoon, leave Cuanxia Village and begin the scenic drive back through the mountains toward Beijing. Relax in your private vehicle while enjoying the countryside views along the way.
