Day 1 | Xi'an: Airport Arrival & Hotel Check-in

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Welcome to Xi'an—the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road and one of China's Four Great Ancient Capitals.

After landing at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport or arriving at Xi'an North Railway Station, you'll find your private guide waiting with a welcome sign. No searching for taxis or figuring out directions after a long flight—we'll take you directly to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. On the drive into the city, we'll give you a relaxed introduction to Xi'an. You'll learn why this city became one of the world's earliest international capitals, how Islam arrived here more than 1,300 years ago through Silk Road merchants, and what makes Xi'an's Muslim culture different from anywhere else in China.

After checking in, the remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax or explore nearby at your own pace. If you're feeling energetic, we're always happy to recommend a nearby halal restaurant, a local tea house, or a pleasant evening walk around the city walls.

It's your first day, so there's no rush. Tomorrow, the real adventure begins.

Day 2 | Xi'an: Terracotta Warriors, Banpo Museum

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, we'll pick you up directly from your hotel. Leaving the city behind, the scenery gradually changes from busy avenues to peaceful countryside as we head toward one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century.

Nothing quite prepares you for your first glimpse of the Terracotta Warriors. Standing before thousands of individually sculpted soldiers, horses, and chariots, it's easy to understand why this site is considered the Eighth Wonder of the World. Instead of simply pointing out the famous figures, your guide will help you notice the fascinating details most visitors miss—the different hairstyles that reveal military ranks, facial expressions unique to each warrior, traces of the original paint, and the enormous engineering behind Emperor Qin Shi Huang's underground army. You'll also hear the remarkable story of the local farmers who accidentally uncovered this lost civilization in 1974.

Around midday, we'll stop at a carefully selected local halal restaurant for lunch. Rather than rushing through the meal, this is a good opportunity to try authentic Shaanxi flavors while chatting with your guide about local customs and daily life.

In the afternoon, we continue to the Banpo Museum, a place many travelers overlook but one that beautifully complements the morning's imperial history. Here you'll step back another 6,000 years to discover one of China's earliest Neolithic villages. Walking through the excavated homes, pottery workshops, and burial sites, you'll see how ordinary families lived long before dynasties, palaces, or emperors existed. It offers a completely different perspective on Chinese civilization and helps put Xi'an's long history into context.

By late afternoon, we'll return comfortably to your hotel, giving you the evening free to rest or explore nearby.

Day 3 | Xi'an: Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, Qujiang Pool Relic Park

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today's journey follows the footsteps of monks, scholars, and Silk Road merchants who once transformed Chang'an into one of the world's greatest cities.

After hotel pickup, we begin at the elegant Big Wild Goose Pagoda, perhaps Xi'an's most recognizable landmark. Built during the Tang Dynasty, the pagoda once safeguarded Buddhist scriptures brought back from India by the legendary monk Xuanzang. As you walk through the temple grounds beneath ancient cypress trees, your guide will share the fascinating story behind Xuanzang's sixteen-year pilgrimage—a journey that later inspired the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Looking up at the towering brick pagoda, it's easy to imagine the excitement surrounding the arrival of sacred Buddhist texts over a thousand years ago.

From here, we continue to the Shaanxi History Museum, often described as one of China's finest museums. Rather than trying to see every gallery, we'll guide you through the most important collections, allowing you to appreciate the masterpieces without feeling overwhelmed.

You'll encounter exquisite Tang Dynasty gold and silverware, delicate ceramics, ancient Silk Road artifacts, and treasures that illustrate how Xi'an became a crossroads where Chinese, Persian, Arab, and Central Asian cultures met.

After enjoying lunch at a nearby halal restaurant, the pace slows as we head to Qujiang Pool Relic Park. Unlike the busy museums, this spacious lakeside park offers a peaceful atmosphere. During the Tang Dynasty, emperors and poets came here to enjoy music, gardens, and elegant banquets. Today, willow trees sway over calm waters while elegant bridges and landscaped gardens create one of Xi'an's most relaxing public spaces.

Take your time wandering along the lakeside paths, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying a quieter side of Xi'an before returning to your hotel.

Day 4 | Xi'an: Ancient City Wall, Bell & Drum Tower Square, Muslim Quarter, Great Mosque, Luoma Pedestrian Street

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today you'll discover the living heart of Xi'an, where ancient walls, Islamic traditions, and vibrant local life come together within just a few walkable neighborhoods.

After breakfast, we'll collect you from your hotel and begin at the magnificent Xi'an Ancient City Wall. Stretching nearly 14 kilometers around the old city, it remains one of the world's best-preserved ancient defensive walls. Whether you choose to take a leisurely walk or rent a bicycle, you'll enjoy sweeping views where centuries-old rooftops meet modern skyscrapers beyond the walls.

Descending into the old city, we arrive at Bell and Drum Tower Square, the historic center of Xi'an. This has been the city's geographical heart for hundreds of years, and today it's still full of life with locals gathering, musicians performing, and traditional architecture creating a timeless atmosphere.

From here, we'll wander into the famous Muslim Quarter. Instead of only introducing the most popular food stalls, we'll help you understand the neighborhood itself. For over a thousand years, Hui Muslim families have lived and traded here, preserving traditions that originated along the Silk Road while developing a distinctly Chinese Islamic culture. Lunch is arranged at one of our trusted halal restaurants nearby, where you can enjoy authentic local specialties without worrying about ingredients or language barriers.

In the afternoon, we step into the peaceful Great Mosque, hidden quietly behind bustling market streets. Unlike mosques in the Middle East, its architecture blends classical Chinese courtyards, gardens, and wooden pavilions with Islamic calligraphy, making it one of the most unique mosques anywhere in the world.

Finally, before returning to your hotel, we'll take a relaxed stroll along Luoma Pedestrian Street. Filled with local boutiques, cafés, dessert shops, and lively street performances, it's a pleasant place to experience Xi'an's modern city life while picking up a few souvenirs.

Day 5 | Xi'an: Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Daming Palace National Heritage Park, Dapiyuan Mosque, Departure

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Your final day in Xi'an offers a slower pace, allowing you to experience several places that many visitors never have time to see.

After checking out of your hotel, we'll store your luggage securely in our vehicle and begin at the tranquil Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Compared with its larger counterpart, this pagoda feels quieter and more intimate. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it's a lovely place to enjoy one last peaceful morning while learning about the spread of Buddhism during the Tang Dynasty.

Next, we continue to Daming Palace National Heritage Park, once the political center of one of the most powerful empires in the world. Standing among the palace foundations, it's hard to imagine that this vast complex was once larger than both the Forbidden City and Versailles. Through museum exhibitions, digital reconstructions, and your guide's storytelling, you'll gain a vivid picture of the glory of imperial Chang'an.

After enjoying your final halal lunch together, we visit Dapiyuan Mosque, a lesser-known but deeply meaningful place for Xi'an's local Muslim community. Unlike the more famous Great Mosque, Dapiyuan Mosque remains closely connected with everyday religious life. Visiting here offers a more authentic glimpse into how Islam continues to thrive in Xi'an today, away from the busiest tourist streets. When the visit concludes, we'll transfer you comfortably to Xi'an Xianyang International Airport or Xi'an North Railway Station according to your departure schedule.

As your journey comes to an end, you'll leave not only with unforgettable memories of emperors, pagodas, and ancient treasures, but also with a deeper understanding of the cultures that have shaped Xi'an for more than two thousand years.

What Our Travelers Say

The trains made the route surprisingly easy

I had never traveled around China by high-speed train before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once we got the hang of it, it was actually one of the easiest parts of the trip. Having someone meet us at the stations was especially helpful because some of the stations are enormous. We could just get off the train, find our driver and move on.

Thanks, Marlowe! Glad to hear our train journeys turned out to be easier than expected. Those big stations can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first, so it's great to hear that having our driver there made things smoother. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip!

A Photographer's Kind of Day

If you like old architecture, bring a camera. Badaguan was probably my favorite part because every street seemed to have a slightly different look. The church and railway station were also great photo stops. I liked that the tour wasn't only about famous sights — there was plenty of time to notice small details along the way.

Thanks, Soren! We're delighted that the architectural side of Qingdao caught your eye. The city has so many small details that are easy to miss when you're in a hurry.

Definitely earned its reputation

I knew Mount Tai would be the big highlight for me, but it was still better than expected. The views kept changing as we went higher, and there was something really special about seeing the old temples and inscriptions along the mountain. The whole trip was also very well organized. We had enough time at each place without feeling like we were constantly watching the clock.

Beautiful City, Bring Comfortable Shoes

We really enjoyed the tour, although there is definitely a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. The old streets were probably my favorite part because there was something interesting around every corner. Baotu Spring was busy when we visited, but the water itself was beautiful. Overall, it was a very nice way to see the central part of Jinan in one day.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review and practical tip! We're glad you enjoyed the mix of Jinan's famous springs and quieter old streets. It was a pleasure to be part of your day in Jinan, and we hope you took home some lovely memories of the city.
