5-Day Guizhou Nature Tour: Waterfalls, Caves & Mountain Landscapes

Your Guizhou adventure begins in Guiyang. After your arrival, your private driver will meet you at the airport, train station, or your hotel and take you west toward Zhijin. The drive gives you your first glimpse of Guizhou's mountainous countryside, with rolling hills and karst landscapes gradually replacing the city.

After arriving in Zhijin, you'll visit Zhijin Cave, one of the region's most impressive natural attractions. Step inside and the landscape changes completely. Huge chambers open up around you, filled with towering stalactites, stone columns, and strange limestone formations shaped over millions of years. The scale of the cave is particularly impressive, and the changing shapes and textures make the walk feel like an exploration rather than a typical sightseeing stop.

After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing by private vehicle toward Anshun. Once you arrive, your driver will take you to your hotel for check-in and some well-earned time to relax.

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your Anshun hotel and take you toward Huangguoshu Waterfall. Today is all about one of Guizhou's most iconic natural sights, and the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as you approach the waterfall area.

At Huangguoshu Waterfall, you'll have time to explore the scenic area and experience the waterfall from different angles. The main viewing area lets you appreciate its full scale, while other paths bring you closer to the rushing water. Depending on the conditions, you may feel the spray in the air as the water crashes into the pool below — a refreshing reminder that this is a waterfall best experienced up close. Take your time walking through the surrounding scenery rather than rushing from one viewpoint to another. The combination of cliffs, forest, streams, and powerful water makes the area feel particularly lush.

After enjoying the waterfall, stop for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue exploring the surrounding scenic area at a comfortable pace before heading to your hotel near Huangguoshu.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey from Anshun to Xingyi by private vehicle. Today takes you deeper into southwestern Guizhou, where the landscape becomes increasingly mountainous and the roads open up to spectacular valley views.

Your first stop is the Huajiang Bridge area. The surrounding landscape is a dramatic mix of deep valleys, steep limestone mountains, and winding roads. Take some time to appreciate the scale of the scenery before continuing toward Xingyi.

After lunch at a local restaurant, head to Wanfenglin Scenic Area, one of the most beautiful karst landscapes in Guizhou. From the viewpoints, thousands of limestone peaks stretch across the horizon, rising above villages, fields, and winding country roads. The view changes as you move through the area, with some sections feeling expansive and almost otherworldly, while others reveal a much quieter rural landscape.

As the afternoon light begins to soften the mountains, continue to Xingyi. Your driver will take you directly to your hotel, leaving you free to rest or explore the city at your own pace.

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your Xingyi hotel and take you to Maling River Gorge, one of the highlights of your journey through southwestern Guizhou.

The gorge feels very different from Wanfenglin. Instead of wide-open views, you'll walk through a dramatic landscape of towering cliffs, narrow valleys, streams, and waterfalls. Water drops from the cliffs into the gorge below, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Take your time along the walking paths and enjoy the changing views as the gorge gradually unfolds around you.

After the morning visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the journey back toward Guiyang.

On the way, make a stop at Baojiatun Village, a traditional settlement surrounded by green hills and farmland. Compared with Guizhou's famous waterfalls and karst mountains, Baojiatun offers something quieter: a chance to see rural life, traditional architecture, and the slower rhythm of a mountain village. It's a nice change of pace after several days of dramatic natural scenery.

Continue by private vehicle to Guiyang in the afternoon. Once you arrive, you'll be dropped off at your hotel, where you can relax for the evening or head out to explore Guiyang independently.

Enjoy your final morning in Guiyang at your own pace. When it's time to leave, your private driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport or Guiyang North Railway Station, depending on your onward journey.
