Came for the Peonies

The peonies were the main reason I booked this trip, and luckily they were in really good shape when we visited. The National Peony Garden was huge and there were so many different colors that I probably took too many photos.
I also liked that the tour didn't make the whole trip about flowers. Longmen Grottoes was completely different and probably the most memorable place overall. Our guide gave us enough background to understand what we were looking at, but we still had time to wander around by ourselves.
The train station pickup and drop-off were also very convenient. For a short two-day trip, everything felt quite straightforward.

Thanks, Niall! Glad the peonies were showing off when you visited — the timing can be a bit of a gamble with flowers. Hope you took home a few good photos!

Perfect Balance of Culture, Food and Nature

This was one of our favorite trips in China.
The itinerary had a very good balance. We started with the busy energy of Guangzhou, then moved into quieter places like Chikan Ancient Town and Kaiping's villages, before finishing with the amazing scenery at Gulong Gorge.
We especially enjoyed the food experiences. The Shunde dinner was unforgettable — simple ingredients but incredible flavors. We also appreciated that our driver suggested local restaurants instead of tourist places.
The best part was the flexibility. Some days we wanted to explore more, and some days we needed a slower pace. The team was very understanding and never made us feel rushed.
Highly recommended for travelers who want to see the authentic side of Guangdong.

A peaceful escape from Hangzhou

We wanted to visit Putuo Mountain but were worried about the complicated transportation connections from Hangzhou. This private tour made everything much easier. The driver picked us up from our hotel in the morning, helped us with the ferry transfer, and explained what to expect before arriving on the island. Putuo Mountain itself was beautiful and peaceful. Walking through the temples surrounded by trees and hearing the ocean nearby was a very special experience. We never felt rushed, which made the trip much more enjoyable.

Questions about Putuo Island

Hi, I'm interested in this private tour because we would like to experience the cultural side of Putuo Island rather than just visit the famous spots. I have a few questions:
1. Are the temples on Putuo Island very crowded? Is there a better time of day to visit them?
2. Do we need to follow any special rules when visiting Buddhist temples?
3. Will we have time to enjoy the seaside scenery, or is the itinerary mainly focused on temples?

Hi Caelan,
Thank you for your questions! We really appreciate that you are interested in experiencing the deeper cultural side of Putuo Island. It is not only a Buddhist destination but also a beautiful island with forests, beaches, and coastal scenery.
1. The main temples, especially Puji Temple, can become busy during weekends and holiday periods. To provide a better experience, our guide will usually arrange the sightseeing order according to crowd levels and opening times, allowing you to enjoy quieter moments whenever possible.
2. There are no strict requirements for visitors, but we recommend dressing respectfully and keeping a quieter atmosphere inside the temples. Our guide will also explain some local customs and interesting stories behind the temples, making the visit more meaningful.
3. Absolutely. Besides temples, Putuo Island is famous for its beautiful coastline and natural landscapes. We will include time for seaside walks, scenic viewpoints, and relaxed moments by the ocean, so the experience is not only cultural but also enjoyable.

We would be happy to help you discover a more authentic side of Putuo Island!

Question About Visiting Huangshan with Seniors

Hi, we are interested in this tour but have some questions before booking. My parents are traveling with us and they are in their late 60s. Is Huangshan suitable for seniors? Do we need to do a lot of hiking?

Hi Anna, thank you for your interest! Yes, this itinerary can work very well for senior travelers. We will arrange a comfortable Huangshan route using cable cars and moderate walking paths instead of a demanding hike.
Your private guide will adjust the pace based on your family's condition, and we can always add more rest time if needed.
Please feel free to let us know your parents' walking ability, and we can further customize the route.

A Meaningful Silk Experience with a Wonderful Local Guide

We had a wonderful silk culture tour in Hangzhou. Our guide Lily was fantastic — she explained the history of silk in a very interesting way and never made us feel rushed. We especially enjoyed the Silk Museum because she helped us understand the stories behind the exhibits instead of just walking around looking at displays. At the Silk Market, she gave us time to look around and helped us communicate with the shops when we needed. The whole experience felt natural and personalized.

Planning a Comfortable Huangshan Trip for My Parents

Hello, the itinerary described there is what my parents would like :) I hope you can arrange such a tour for them.
Just a few more questions:
1. Is it possible to stay at the high altitude summit hotel on Huangshan instead?
2. In terms of the planned hiking route, how long (km) and how difficult is it? If my parents wanted to see the Guangmingding and Shixin Peak, how long is the hike to these two locations and what is the difficulty level for hiking?
3. How are meals arranged?

Hi Jason,
Thank you for your message! We are delighted to hear that your parents are interested in this Huangshan itinerary. Since Huangshan involves some walking and mountain conditions, we truly appreciate your thoughtful questions and would be happy to help you plan a comfortable and enjoyable experience for them. Please see our answers below:
1. Yes, we can certainly arrange accommodation at a hotel on Huangshan Mountain, so you' re able to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. However, please note that there are only few hotel options on summit, which make the hotel fees are relatively more expensive due to their location.

2. As for hiking on Huangshan Mountain, the main scenic highlights are located in the Back Mountain area, including Shixin Peak and Guangmingding (Bright Summit). After taking the Yungu Cable Car, the hike to Shixin Peak is about 1 km and relatively easy, followed by another 0.5 km to Scattering Flowers Valley, where hotels such as Beihai Hotel are located. Lion Peak and Paiyun Pavilion are also nearby and suitable for easy hiking. Guangmingding is a more challenging route, with a round trip of about 6 km and some steep stairs, so we suggest considering your parents' physical condition before including this part.

3. For meals, we can arrange them if needed, or our guide can recommend some good local restaurants. Your parents can choose what they would like to eat, and pay directly at the restaurant. Alternatively, you can prepare the food by your own.

Smooth experience for our family

We traveled with our parents, so we wanted something comfortable and flexible. The guide adjusted the walking speed, helped our parents when needed, and chose restaurants that were suitable for everyone. It felt like traveling with a local friend.

Great service from start to finish

The communication before the trip was probably one of the best parts. Sarah from the team was always quick to reply and gave us very practical suggestions about hotels, train schedules, and what to expect in each city. During the tour, everything worked perfectly. The driver was always on time and the guides were professional.
Beijing was amazing, especially the Great Wall. Our guide even helped us choose the best walking route because my parents were traveling with us.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to visit China without worrying about logistics.

A perfect balance of nature and history

We wanted something deeper than a typical Huangshan tour, and this itinerary was exactly what we were looking for. The ancient villages were beautiful and peaceful, especially Chengkan and Hongcun. Our guide made a big difference. He explained the architecture, Huizhou merchants, and local traditions in a way that was interesting and easy to understand. It felt more like traveling with a local friend than joining a tour.

Thank you, Sarah! We are delighted that you enjoyed the cultural side of Huizhou. These villages have so many stories behind the buildings, and we believe the best way to experience them is through local knowledge and personal connections. We hope your memories of Huangshan and Huizhou stay with you for many years.
